There hasn't been much movement on the Adventure for a while. I know this is partly my fault, as I haven't done updates for a while, and even when I did have more regular updates, they only came every two or three weeks, but even with roleplaying or the few activities that did get put up, there was very little participation. Basically... I'm a busy person, and even if I started sharing SFFA duties with others, there's no point in doing SFFA any more if only a handful of people are going to participate. (just for reference, if we *do* continue SFFA, I'm definitely going to be sharing duties with others)
Hence, this poll. Please think very carefully before you vote! If you just like reading the SFFA story or just like RPing, don't vote to continue the overall Adventure--only vote for that option if you genuinely want to stay involved! (and not just "yeah, I'd like to get involved at some point") If we decide to shut down the overall Adventure, we could talk about continuing RPs or even just continuing to post chapters of the story if that's what people want.
Any advice or opinions on this subject are very much appreciated!

I love the idea of an epic interactive storyline, and I love the fact that it encourages writing, but I don't particularly like the way it was created or handled after that. No offense to the mods.

We're completely open to suggestions! Personally, I'd love to get this moving again and bring it to its full potential.

I know we've had some trouble with people sticking to the rules, but now that we've tightened them no one wants to participate. Maybe we can be a little more lax on them? Especially with Roleplaying since it doesn't directly affect the course of the Adventure. (But we would have to be a little more vigilant) Also a crossroad or two wouldn't hurt (I'd be glad to help with those if you want )

I really like the whole concept of the Adventure. Unfortunately, a lot of people are behind on the challenges. Perhaps start putting up deadlines to stay involved so that it can get moving again?
I know you had a point system before. I'm really fuzzy on the details on how that all works, so if my idea is what you were trying for, sorry to be redundant: perhaps give so many points just for finishing a challenge, mabye have a vote on the favorite for more points, and maybe have the moods judge each challenge based on whatever criteria; then, with those points the writers can buy weapons or whatever to be avaliable for their character in the next challenge. -I believe this is what you were already doing, but perhaps combine this with the deadlines to really get things moving? It would be a start in any case...

The adventure was created on the premise that people would actively participate in all of the challenges and tasks. At first, the concept of the adventure was favourably received. But, unfortunately, it had a fundamental flaw. It needs people. And it needs structure.
As time passed, I think a lot of people lost interest. And to be honest, I also think it was a doomed project from the start.
But it was certainly fun while it lasted.

I love the Adventure and all the characters, but...I don't know. Maybe it could have gone a different direction? Maybe the story could have been more open, have each of the characters be able to be involved with other created characters in the SFFA? Gee, how helpful I am...

This has been up almost a week now, but I think I'm going to leave it up for a few more days, just to get as many opinions as possible. Thanks, everyone, for your input and opinions!
(eventually, we will have to come to a decision about what to do with the Adventure... for now, though, I'd still like to give everyone more time to pitch in)

Maybe we need to go back to the beginning an start from scratch, also, maybe we make it an open series that anyone can add to, instead of all of us having our own thing.

maybe we should have the option to just participate in the roleplays and possibly help in crossroads, but not do the main bit?

I like the adventure and I'd like it to continue. All of it. But of course, I'm just one person. You guys will probably shut it down... but I think the main problem is that SJH tried to keep all the work to himself. If, like swenson said, you shared work among the mods, it would work without anyone to collapse under the stress, like SJH did. Anyway, whether you shut this down or not, I'll finish my story. I think that's legal. Just let me know so that I can start making my own plot, or wait for the next challenge.

All right, I'll leave this up for two more days...that'll be a full two weeks, and by that point I'm pretty sure everyone who wants to put input in will already have put it in. Like I said before, thanks to everyone who participated in this poll/thread!
There won't be a decision right away after the thread closes, by the way--it'll need to be discussed at least some before we can actually decide what to do.
