That site is pretty good. It can be annoying, but last year I learned that it does help. I don't know if I have time to use that this year, though. Ha, ha. Try Kamikaze mode on evil.
...I wish electric shock could be used....
Hey how did you code the widget in your sig? AAAAAAHHHHHH I FELLL BEHIND!!!! I have a little bit more than 3,000 words, and I have to break 10,000 today!

Oh, I wouldn't worry about falling behind too much right now--it's still just the beginning, and you've got plenty of time to catch up. If you've fallen behind a couple hundred/thousand, then use Dr. Wicked's Write or Die lab if you're more of the get-it-done-in-one-sitting type of person, or even just bump up the word-count-per-day you want. It only takes 1,667 words a day to make the 50,000 word mark by the end of November. (If you push yourself, you could probably get that done in an hour or so.) Bump up that to 2,000 for a few days and you'll get back on track. So don't freak out yet if you've fallen behind; deep breaths and Kamikaze mode will cure it right up. And I'm at 5,265 words, so no need to panic if you've got more than that (which is great, to everyone participating! I'm amazed just looking at all the writing going on--fantastic job!). And even with my "behind" word count, I'm not worried--I'm just going to take advantage of my free time this weekend, catch up, and then continue on.

WOD is a definite handy tool to use; I just visited it for an hour or so now and got in about 1,600 words, which brings me up to around 6,800 words now. See--no worries. You're only behind if you say so--as long as you make the 50,000 at the end, then you can be "behind" as much as you want on the between time (though I wouldn't suggest leaving it *all* until the end). And you're welcome. I'm just here to make sure we don't have any quitters--and it seemed you guys needed a boost for "falling behind". Which you're not! It's only Week 1--you've still got plenty of time to get back on track if you want to do it that way. Everyone's doing a great job, and I'm thoroughly enjoying reading the NaNos posted on SFF right now (I *will* review; I just need to get my poor computer to work a bit faster), so rest assured that everything's fine. You're all doing great, you'll continue to do great as long as you don't quit, and then you'll have a nice laugh in December when it's all over.

I just had a mini word war with my regions on that site. See who could write the most in the set of given time. My best 10 minuets was 400 something. Then i kept just going back and we ended up doing 1 twenty minute, hitting over a thousand easy XD we had so much fun together. (Althought Peter keeps beating us XD) Later, we talked about good qoutes that could go into our stories or relate. I have a link to some of them http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/a/abraham_lincoln_4.html Abraham Lincoln http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/s/satchel_paige.html Satchel Paige http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/j/john_locke.html John Locke. I've added over two thousand today. don;t think it's SFF worth with its confusing time settings back and forth, but maybe in week 2 it'll be a bit more organized.

6770, and I'm calling it a night.
Dreadfully behind, even with my lower daily goal, but I'm not worrying yet. I have all of tomorrow, with nothing to do but sit on my bum and write.
...On the bright side, I've been compiling my character actor cast to inspire myself. It's been... well, sort of helpful... so far, I've got Lucas Grabeel as Leo, Anna Paquin as Saray, Hugh Dancy as her fiancι Simon, and Jeremy Sumpter as her younger brother Jared.
Does anyone else do this? That is, cast their characters and find pictures of them to stare at when they're out of ideas?

Did you do that last year, too? I think I remember you mentioning it... I'm not really up on celebrities, so I can't pick them out very well for my characters. Gahhh, I'm falling behind. Being away this weekend (and having to spend time studying and working on homework) is not conducive to writing a lot for NaNo... but after my Bio SAT II today, I spent my remaining time working out some more plot points. I figured out quite a few things- such as why my villain is a villain, how the villain finds out my character is still alive, and where on earth my character gets her costume from.

I took the widget from the write or die site and used an html to bbc converter. Word count is only about 840 now. At this rate, I won't finish this until December.
