Currently at 4123 words, but will hopefully do some more tonight. Weirdly enough, the story has morphed into an odd plot that's very similiar to Twilight, but with roles reversed. Which is even weirder if you've heard me rant on various threads about the evils of Twilight.

3642 words so far. Not bad for me. 300 over the average per day. I have absolutely no idea where I want to go with the story though.

I know! My evil authorial plan is to turn the resident Edward into a cowardly, vain type who the heroine leanrs to despise. Muhahaha sacrilege of the 'classics!'

This is so exciting! Today my plot decided to randomly change on me- and I'm very, very grateful, because I love the direction it's going in now. See, before, my MC (Penny) went home after getting clocked in the head with a pistol butt, left down by the river, and nearly mauled by a werewolf... but she didn't say anything about it. How likely is that? *waits for chorus of "not very"* Exactly.
But in my new version, she ends up supposedly dead, only the guy who was supposed to kill her isn't a murderer, just a thief, so he's like "Go home and don't tell anyone about this." and knocks her in the head and leaves her by the river, where she nearly gets mauled by the werewolf. But because she A) isn't supposed to know about supernaturals and B) has a concussion, my other MC (Kara; she's an elf) comes in at this point and basically takes Penny home with her. Then the guy who tried to have Penny killed finds out she's still alive, so she can't go home or her family would be in danger. And she can't go to the police, because the supernaturals won't let her.
So it all works out much better now, and I only have to write one small bridging scene to use the new plot!

Thus the quotes! Though I'm not sure Twilight is even a quoted 'classic,' though I'm sure it would be if you asked the middle school girls in my youth group. *Tongue in cheek, tongue in cheek* (Edited to make this one topic. Sorry. ) I'm at 6,006 words, but I really had to make myself write today. Since I'll be gone Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, I really need to be doing even more. I have a three hour car ride soon, though, and those are always helpful towards the word count. We're still not really getting to the action yet, though. Today, I wrote 2000 words of playing dinosaurs, rescuing cats, and collecting different grass specimens.
