Alex always knew there was something different about her.  She just never suspected that that something could be as remarkable as being a werewolf.  At least until it really happened.

Two years.  That's all it took for her to break the rules.  Fifteen-year-old Alex Harker hated that she was never supposed to tell anyone about her secret.  A lie, she'd call it.  She was living a lie.  So, in a terrible act of rebellion, Alex reveals her true identity to her best friend, a human.  Predictably, she's half turned her Pack against her.  Unpredictably, she's just sealed their doom.

Something sinister lies beneath the surface of mankind.  Anything they're not is a thing they're taught to fear.  When this rises to the surface, hell breaks loose.  And Alex is about to find out the hard way.

Everyone has regrets. Shadow regrets a lot of things, one of them being getting exiled from her werewolf pack. What she didn't realize was that getting exiled would prove to be the best thing for her.

I began writing this awhile ago, and I mean to begin writing more to it soon.  The idea of this story was inspired by two of my sisters, one of whom was born with quite a few health issues, and I spent my childhood and even now spend a lot of my time trying to help her get through all the shit in her life.  The other had been adopted and gone through hell before.  Though this is not based on the same situations, I attempt to catch the general attitude in it to show others how incredibly strong a human being can be through impossible hardship.  This isn't my life story or my sisters' life story, but rather I am attempting to capture the essence of what life truly is.
